To qualify as a contractor for the HOME Rochester program you will need to:
- Fill out the application and submit for approval to our Construction Specialist at jbrown@grhp.org.
- Meet program insurance requirements.
- Supply Lead Abatement Certification for your organization as well as worker(s) filed through EPA.
- Upon submission, the Construction Specialist will set up a time to meet and review your application.
What is a HOME Rochester Contractor responsible for?
HOME Rochester rehabilitation jobs are competitively bid to a pool of approved General Contractors. Contractors in the HOME Rochester program are responsible for the oversight of the entire rehabilitation project. Our General Contractors have a combination of full-time staff and subcontractors that are able to meet our program timelines and requirements. All homes are renovated within a 120-day time-frame. A typical home renovation will usually include a new roof, windows, doors, driveway and updated/replaced facade on the exterior. Interior renovations typically include new kitchen and bath(s); updated/refinished flooring; updated/repaired walls with fresh paint throughout; updated/replaced systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and new H2O tank. All work is done using lead-safe work practices and in compliance with applicable lead standards. Monthly draws are provided for completed work throughout the duration of the project.
